Just came back from Vegas, and had a great time. Since I'm a relatively new member, (I started in September) but I've been practicing and learning as much as I could in the private forum. I know its really hard for the new members sometimes, so I'd thought I put in a little of what just happened so you can put things in its proper perspective. I've looked at a lot of systems. I am banned from a few casinos in vegas from playing blackjack since they know me as a counter. Doesn't matter cause I wouldn't count cards now anyway, and I do like baccarat better. Its better odds for me. When I stumbled on this site, I was in a casino at the time on vacation. I just lost a bunch of money plaiyng some others guys system that said you could win flat bettng. Yeah right. I'd love to have what he was smoking! I joined as a free member, took a few hours learning the "good, better, and best" way to play. Then I went down to the floor to play it. I won the $500 + quite easily and joined as a full member later that day. I loved how the highest bet I could make was 2 units, and how what I learned played out for me at the shoe. If its one thing I've learned from here is that it pays to learn some of the tips and tricks from the the other full members. And like anything worthwhile, it takes time. How much time is up to each individual. The systems I've learned on the full forum are simple enough, and very effective! But you need to practice, practice, practice. Why? Because playing the right system, the wrong way won't win. I don't care how good it is. I've talked to other players in the free forum and they would ask me for help. The first thing i do is ask them to tell me what the shoe was, and how they played it, either by emailing me the scanned shoe or posting it here on the forum. The majority of the time, they are playing it wrong, or made a mistake here and there that while seeming small, dramtically changed the outcome of the shoe. My goal was to play baccarat professionaly for a living. If I can win 10 units a day or $1,000 thats more than enough for me. The good news, is I can do that quite easily. The bad news is I am about 3,000 miles away from the nearest casino. So I have to try and make my money in huge chunks. That puts me at a disadvantage. But thats temporary as I plan on moving close to a casnio soon. I played a total of 27 shoes while in Vegas this past week. I played at Harrah's and the Wynn. I played what I learned in the private forum and even came upon a break through! Just my luck as it was on the last day I was there. But it is such a huge breakthrough that I am going back this weekend to take advantage of it. Of interesting note, I was not even playing the full version of SAP yet as I am waiting for the new manual and webinar. However, during the last 2 days, I played the the beginnings of the introduction to the full SAP that was previewed to the full members, and it was HOT! I only wish I played it from day 1. Thats when I came up with a break through for me. I ran it by Ellis and he said I was correct and that he would be addressing that and more in the new manual and webinar for full members. First let me be the first to admit that as I analysed my play after, (as you should always do) I realized I made a bunch of mistakes as I played. Thats how I recognized the breakthrough. The good news is I still came out way ahead. Here are the general parameters I played by. My goal is to average a net of +10 units a shoe. I try to play conserviativley and keep a tight stop loss at -8. So once I hit my stop win or stop loss, I quit and wait for a new shoe, or look for a different table, or I even switched casinos. Now let me say right here that this advice is the most important in this whole post. I am no way near perfect and I even disobeyed my own advice to my peril during this last trip. It is very easy to get emotional when you play, so don't. That is just what the casino wants. In fact, they are counting on it. Even your casino host is secretly smiling behind your back. Don't forget, it is NOT your goal to beat that one shoe you are playing. Your goal is to beat the casino and walk out of there with their money. You don't have to win every shoe to do that. If you win 80% of the shoes, hell even 51% you'll be fine. But we are not here to win a stinky 51% are we? Also keep in mind that when I say the High and Low scores of the shoe, that was my score, not neccessarily the score of the whole shoe. I quit a lot shoes once I hit my stop win or stop loss and didn't keep track of the rest of the shoe in many cases. So here is what happened. Shoe#1: +10. Low of -1, high of +10. Highest bet was a 4. Started at the 26th play as I walked into this game and missed the beginning. This was a good thing as I noticed that this shoe fit one of the systems I learned. I started with 5 units, playing all black. Only lost the first play and it went up from there. Got to my goal of 10 units quickly at play 40 and went for more. When I hit play 44 with 10 units a second time, I walked away. Shoe#2: +11. Low of 0, high of 19. Highest bet was 4. Quit at play 64. Shoe#3: -8. My fault. I quit 21 plays into it. I made a mistake and played it wrong. So I quit the shoe at play 21. I replayed the shoe and I would hae been at +1 instead of -8. Shoe#4 - Broke even. Low of -12, High of +4. Shoe#5: +7 High of +10 low of -8 Shoe#6: +8. Low -3, High of +9 Shoe#7: +32 Low 0, High +37 Shoe#8: -8. My fault again. Had a high of +12 and I was on a high from the last shoe and got a little cocky and didn't pay attention to what I was doing. Shoe#9: +27 High+30, Low -8 Shoe #10: -4. My fault I made a mistake on my score card that screwed me up, so I quit and waited for the next shoe. Shoe#11: +20. High +20, Low -4 Shoe#12: +8 High+10, Low -2 Shoe#13: -20 High +13 Low-20. I'm such an idiot. I started to chase the shoe, pissed off at myself for not stopping when I got to +13. So I tried to keep playing to get it back. Not a smart thing. (See what I mean about emotion and walking away?) Plus I think by then I was playing my 13 shoe in a row. Worst part is when I checked my scorecard, I was playing it wrong! Shoe#14: +10 High +31, Low of 0. I shoulf of kept playing but I was gun shy from last shoe. See what not having discipline does? It even hurts you on the good shoes. Shoe#15: -7 I walked awayat play 10 a little too early and played to conservative. Had I stayd in I would have been at +15 Shoe#16: +10 High +12, Low -7 Shoe#17: +12 High +15, Low -4 Shoe#18: +10 High +10 low -7 Shoe#19: +10 High +12, Low -3 Shoe#20: +11 High + 15 Low -1 Shoe#21: +10 High+16 Low 0 Shoe#22: +10 High +19 Low 0 Shoe#23: -15 made a mistake on my score card that totally through me off. Shoe#24: +38 High of +38, Low -7 Shoe#25: +10. High of +20, Low -3 Screwed this up too. after checking my shoe, I should have been at +27! Shoe#26: +10 High +12, Low - 5 Shoe#27: -8 High +9, Low -8 All in all it was a good trip. It should have been much better. I am so pissed at myself. Plan on going back again this week. See you at the casinos! Mark Last edited by mreteuya; 12-11-2008 at 02:52 AM. |

Great post Mark! Congrats on a great trip! Do Not Go Back with anything resembling being pissed! Give it another week if needed to flush out those emotions. If you can do it sooner great, but always be honest with yourself. Your post reflects your honesty, which is why it is such a great post! Again Congrats!

Mark has done so well so fast. I told him he is going to be a great player. The reason is obvious, don't you think. BTW Mark was not here for the Archery event. So his comments about flat betting are unprompted. Pretty timely, wasn't it. Good work Mark, you're getting there!

Yeah, but just about anything would! Good trip Mark and thanks for posting the play details on the private forum. BTW, I'll repeat your questions on Sporadic ones in the private forum and answer them there as others may have the same questions.

awesome. thanks ellis. It would be nice to get this forum back to something consrtuctive other than this idiot archer. As a paid member, I am formally requesting that Keith block him or at leat delete all of his threads. its taking up too much space. Thats all he is trying to do anyway is dominate the furum. That is why he keeps putting up new threads. Please please delete them as they are not helpful at all. Ig he's not going to be part o the solution, he is just part of the problem. |

Re-posting this portion of my previous post because I have been fielding all types of requests to play all different types of shoes since my last post. If you are one of those people, please bear with me as I am trying to get to all of them. What I learned in the private forum allowed me to be mostly all of them. Notice I said mostly. Its impossible to beat every shoe, since it we can't control what kind of shoe the casino will throw at us. But what we can control is our own actions. The casino is betting that we can't. So lets prove them wrong. Don't forget this! From my earlier post below: I keep a tight stop loss at -8. So once I hit my stop loss, I quit and wait for a new shoe, or look for a different table, or I even switched casinos. Or at the very least, stop betting and continue to track the shoe until you can recognize how you should play it to win. Also keep in mind that when I say the High and Low scores of the shoe, that was my score, not neccessarily the score of the whole shoe. I quit a lot shoes once I hit my stop win or stop loss and didn't keep track of the rest of the shoe in many cases. |
